Sewing a purse provides plenty of new skills and helps you create a great accessory or gift. In this workshop we will be making That Cute Purse from Country Cow Designs. This is a beautiful purse with exterior and interior pockets and opportunities to use a variety of hardware & fabrics to make something unique Approximate size is: 6" tall x 11.5" wide x 2.75" deep This workshop is designed for those with basic machine skills - knowing how to set up, thread and sew straight seams. Basic experience with sewing a zip is useful but not essential. This workshop includes over £23 of high quality hardware from Country Cow Designs During the workshop we will learn: - How to read the pattern and cut our pieces - Sew a variety of pockets, including an inside welt pocket & front flap pockets - Learn how to attach snaps & rivets - Making a decorative strap What's Included - That Cute Purse Printed Pattern - Hardware (zips, interfacing, rings, sliders etc)* *Please note if you want to add bag feet there is an additional £6 fee for these. Bag feet give your bag a professional & help protect the base of your bag What you will need - Outer Fabric: Cotton Canvas (Experienced sewists could also try waxed cotton, faux suede or vinyl) Needlecord or Corduroy is also an option - Lining Fabric: Quilting Cotton - Straps: Cotton or Nylon webbing, 1" wide (1.5m) - You may wish to get a thread which matches or co-ordinates with your fabric (many fabric retailers offer a thread matching service) We recommend getting 0.5m of each fabric (for directional fabric, you may need extra)


Cancellation Policy

Booking - Payments must be received in full or in part when booking online - All courses & workshops include £5 non-refundable admin fee. - Any remaining payment must be paid by bank transfer before the course/workshop start date. Cancellations These must be received at least two weeks before the workshop starts to receive a refund, minus £5 non-refundable admin fee. Payment cannot be refunded if places are cancelled later that this date. MYO Workshops: - £10 deposit is non-refundable, this covers admin fees & workshop planning - Workshops not held at Learn & Create (Newtonmore) must be held at community venues e.g. village or church halls, not your own home - Venues will need to have their own public liability insurance, provide electricity outlets, chairs & tables. - Booking & payment of a community venue is the responsibility of the individual/group (if not using Learn & Create in Newtonmore). - Individual/Group must inform the venue if the chosen workshop will include sewing equipment. All Learn & Create equipment is PAT tested & we can provide details of our insurance if necessary. - Remaining payments are due 3 weeks before your workshop date & are non-refundable from this point Machine Hire & Project Help Sessions - Upon requesting a session we will be in touch and let you know of available dates - please give as many details as you can (e.g. evenings or day time, weekdays or weekends) - By booking a machine hire session you are confirming that you have basic knowledge of using the machine and if there is any feature, equipment or tool you are unfamiliar with you will ask our staffs for help.  - Minor breakages such as broken/bent needles, pins, quilting clips will not incur any compensation. - Breakages to sewing machines, irons and equipment which result in repair or replacement will incur either full or part compensation Young Creatives & After School Clubs ​​If you cancel your place 14 days prior to the programme start date (e.g. by the first date of the block) you will receive a full refund. If you cancel your place 7 days prior to the programme start date (e.g. by the first date of the block) you will receive a 60% refund as by this time we are likely to have purchased materials. We will not be able to refund cancellations received later than 7 days prior to the programme start date.
