Overlockers can often be seen as complicated machines to set up & use - this workshop demystifies the overlocker & helps you identify basic troubleshooting In this workshop we will be making the Victory Doleman T-Shirt which is a simple t-shirt from Waves & Wild. The pattern is available in either the curvy or straight fit - we recommend the curvy fit if you like a figure hugging t-shirt & the straight fit if you prefer a baggier fit. This workshop is designed for those with basic machine skills - knowing how to set up, thread and sew straight seams. We will be doing some top-stitching with regular machines. No dressmaking experience is required. During the workshop we will learn: - How to thread an overlocker - Whhich thread is which - Setting tension - Exploring the various overlocker functions - Sewing our t-shirt As this is not a dressmaking course we will not be making pattern adjustments, in the booking form please include: - Pattern Version: Curvy or Straight - Measurements: High Bust & Full Bust or Chest, Waist & Hips Once booked we will send you information about your size & required fabrics What's Included - Victory Doleman Pattern (Curvy or Straight Fit) - pdf & printed booklet - A0 Pattern pieces What you will need - Jersey Fabric (1-2m) - Tubular Ribbing(0.5m) Fabric Add On: Purchase from our range of fabrics for discounted price of £7.50pm (rrp £9.50). You will need to bring tubular ribbing


Cancellation Policy

Booking - Payments must be received in full or in part when booking online - All courses & workshops include £5 non-refundable admin fee. - Any remaining payment must be paid by bank transfer before the course/workshop start date. Cancellations These must be received at least two weeks before the workshop starts to receive a refund, minus £5 non-refundable admin fee. Payment cannot be refunded if places are cancelled later that this date. MYO Workshops: - £10 deposit is non-refundable, this covers admin fees & workshop planning - Workshops not held at Learn & Create (Newtonmore) must be held at community venues e.g. village or church halls, not your own home - Venues will need to have their own public liability insurance, provide electricity outlets, chairs & tables. - Booking & payment of a community venue is the responsibility of the individual/group (if not using Learn & Create in Newtonmore). - Individual/Group must inform the venue if the chosen workshop will include sewing equipment. All Learn & Create equipment is PAT tested & we can provide details of our insurance if necessary. - Remaining payments are due 3 weeks before your workshop date & are non-refundable from this point Young Creatives & After School Clubs ​​If you cancel your place 14 days prior to the programme start date (e.g. by the first date of the block) you will receive a full refund. If you cancel your place 7 days prior to the programme start date (e.g. by the first date of the block) you will receive a 60% refund as by this time we are likely to have purchased materials. We will not be able to refund cancellations received later than 7 days prior to the programme start date.
