Inspired by the Great British Sewing Bee we are including a week long upcycling and sewing challenge in this year's Summer programme! This programme is for ages 7+ & suited to those who have some sewing experience - if there is enough demand we will run a sewing refresher so everyone can get used to our machines. Every day participants will have two challenges: - Upcycling Challenge: Turn old things into something new!! You will be able to use a variety of materials and what you create can be sewn, glued or pieced together however you like! - Sewing Challenge: You will be provided with cut pieces, in your chosen materials & sewing instructions to create your own garment or accessory Programme Monday - Use old jeans to create something useful - Sew your own backpack Tuesday - Create t-shirt yarn to knit, weave or decorate - Make your own t-shirt Wednesday - Use scraps and glue to make a bowl or plate - Sew a patchwork pencil case Thursday - Use larger pieces of fabric to make a decoration - Make your own Pyjama Pants All materials & patterns are included (worth £45) - you will be asked to fill in a form with your measurements and material selections Book all four days for £200 (discount will be applied to your order after booking) Day Plan 9.45am Kids Arrive 10.00am Begin upcycle challenge 11.30am Upcycle challenge ends. Tidy up 12.00pm Lunch 1.00pm Begin pattern challenge 3.00pm Pattern challenge ends. Tidy up 3.30pm Tea, Cake & Voting! (Parents, friends & public invited to see work & vote) 4.00pm Home time


Cancellation Policy

All Summer Holiday Programme clubs must be booked online, in person or via email/telephone. Due to materials & adult to child ratios we cannot take walk-in bookings. When booking online a deposit is taken, the remaining balance must be paid by bank transfer to secure your place. Payment must be received 2 weeks before the first date your child/children will attend. Cancellations If you cancel your place by 5pm, 14 days prior to the start date (e.g. by the first date attending) you will receive a full refund. If you cancel your place by 5pm, 7 days prior to the start date (e.g. by the first date attending) you will receive a 50% refund as by this time we are likely to have purchased materials. We will not be able to refund cancellations received later than 7 days prior to the programme start date. Example: If you wish to cancel for a class starting 1st July, you must cancel before 5pm on 17th June to receive a full refund. After 5pm is outside our working hours - to maintain work/life balance we try not to answer work calls or emails during family time, so if we do not receive notice before 5pm you will only be eligible for a 50% refund There are no refund exceptions for those who book during the 14 day or 7 day period - please do book as early as possible. Emergency Contacts & First Aid We have qualified first aiders for all courses. After booking you will be sent an emergency contact form, please include: - At least 2 contact numbers, for someone who is based/staying locally & who will be able to come and pick up your child if they are sick, injured or need to go home. - Any medical information we may need, including everyday ailments (such as hayfever, skin allergies etc) & behavioural or mental health conditions (such as autism, sensory issues, low self esteem etc) We do our best to make sure all activities are as inclusive as possible - particularly given the positive effects of creativity on mental health & well being. If you feel your child would benefit from our activities but have concerns or requirements please do get in touch to discuss with us. Damage & Breakages There are of course everyday damages (e.g. breaking machine needles, cosmetic damage etc) which can occur during kids courses and activities. Strict instructions on equipment usage is given & we monitor all activity thoroughly. If damage to equipment occurs due to misuse or destructive behaviour you may be required to contribute to the cost of repairs
