Service Description

Knitting your first jumper can be daunting - making sure your gauge is correct, understanding the pattern, sewing pieces together - so we have put this course together as a step by step guide to the whole process. This course is beginners level - knowing how to cast on & off and knit & purl are all the skills needed Choose from 3 free beginners jumper patterns & create your own unique project - Stylecraft 9697 (DK) is a simple garter stitch jumper with a nice colour block feature - Bellissima Chunky Jumper (Chunky) is a mixture of garter stitch and stocking stitch with a wide neck - Paintbox Alphabet Sweater (Aran) - Available in both adult and kids sizes, can be made with or without the letter feature Once booked we will email you to confirm your jumper choice. You can get measurements for yourself (or the person you want to knit for) then we will let you know which size to make and how much yarn you need. Classes will be held fortnightly - allowing students time to work on their project at home. Below is a rough guide, but please do not feel pressured, we will help you through the process at which ever speed you manage Class 1: Checking gauge, reading through pattern & casting on back piece Homework - work on back piece Class 2: Continue working on back piece & begin shaping Homework - Finish back piece, cast on front piece Class 3: Begin Front piece Homework - Work on front piece, cast on sleeves Class 4: Shaping & working on Sleeves Homework - Work on sleeves (aim to complete at least one) Class 5: Construction You will need: Required Yarn & Needles (students get 10% off yarn from Learn & Create for this course) All extra tools are provided by Learn & Create but you may wish to purchase: Darning needle Scissors Tape Measure Please note students get 10% off all Learn & Create haberdashery

Cancellation Policy

Booking - Payments must be received in full or in part when booking online. Any remaining payment must be paid by bank transfer before the course/workshop start date. Cancellations These must be received at least two weeks before the workshop starts to receive a full refund. Payment cannot be refunded if places are cancelled later that this date. Young Creatives & After School Clubs ​​If you cancel your place 14 days prior to the programme start date (e.g. by the first date of the block) you will receive a full refund. If you cancel your place 7 days prior to the programme start date (e.g. by the first date of the block) you will receive a 60% refund as by this time we are likely to have purchased materials. We will not be able to refund cancellations received later than 7 days prior to the programme start date.
