Terms & Conditions 

MINIMUM NUMBERS

  • Due to the increases in energy costs we have no other options but to make some changes to our activities during the winter months . Unfortunately this is out of our hands and we hope our customers and students understand. 

  • Minimum Numbers - To run, all courses and workshops must have the minimum number of students booked (this is usually 2 or 3). If we do not achieve this number we will re-schedule or cancel and refund students

  • Student Cancellations - If students cannot attend a session, particularly if this leaves only 1 or 2 students in the session we may reschedule that session to reduce energy costs.

YOUNG CREATIVES & AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS

  • Places are limited & will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis​

  • Emergency Contacts: Please provide up to date contact information for someone who will be available for the duration of the session.​

  • Equipment: Please be aware of age limits & skill levels for each programme. Full instructions will be given and all activities are monitored but improper use of equipment can result in injury or damages to our equipment. Participants will be liable for the cost of any equipment damages or replacement. 

  • Cancellations:

    • ​​If you cancel your place 14 days prior to the programme start date (e.g. by the first date of the block) you will receive a full refund. 

    • If you cancel your place 7 days prior to the programme start date (e.g. by the first date of the block) you will receive a 60% refund as by this time we are likely to have purchased materials.

    • We will not be able to refund cancellations received later than 7 days prior to the programme start date.

WORKSHOPS & COURSES 

  • One day workshops must be paid in full when booking

  • Deposits are available for Weekly Courses, these must be paid when booking & dates regarding remaining payments will be given on the course page. Deposits are non-refundable. 

  • Cancellations: These must be received at least two weeks before the workshop starts. Payment cannot be refunded if places are cancelled later that this date.

  • Split payments are available for some some courses - please do email us for information

  • Equipment: Full instructions will be given and all activities are monitored but improper use of equipment can result in injury or damages to our equipment. Participants will be liable for the cost of any equipment damages or replacement.

ONLINE WORKSHOPS

  • Once booked you will receive a link to the Google Classroom content plus patterns (where applicable). Prep videos will be uploaded approx 1 week before the Zoom class

  • Cancellations: These must be received 7 days before the workshop date (i.e. date of the Zoom class). Payment cannot be refunded if places are cancelled later that this date. Please note that refunds cannot be issued if video content has been accessed via Google Classroom. 

  • Students are responsible for:

    • Gathering their materials,tools and equipment for the Zoom class​

    • Ensuring they have suitable equipment, wifi etc to access the Zoom class 

    • Ensuring they do not allow others at their location to watch the Zoom class - additional students must book separately

  • Zoom Etiquette 

    • Do not share the zoom link with those not booked on the workshop.

    • Please mute your microphone unless speaking​

    • We do ask that you leave your camera on wherever possible - just so we can ensure those booked are present and can assist with work when needed

    • Feel free to use the chat function to ask questions 

    • Screen sharing for participants will be turned off. 

  • After the Zoom Google Classroom content should be available indefinitely but this is subject to any changes made by Google.

Helpful Info

Fabric Information 

  • What's a Fat Quarter (FQ)?: This is a common sewing term referring to the size of a piece of fabric. Fabric is usually cut into ½m pieces, which is then cut in half to may a FQ. They can often be bought in co-ordinating bundles from fabric stores, Hobbycraft or Aldi

  • What is directional fabric?: Many fabrics have different patterns and prints. Some are non-directional i.e. the print is randomly placed & there is no right way up. Others are directional i.e. the print needs to be a certain way up to look correct (see examples below)
