Sew: Trousers (One Day)
Learn to sew trousers - using simple patterns from Waves & Wild
Details
Trousers can often be seen as the trickiest garment to find the perfect fit! So being able to sewn your own based on your measurements is an excellent skill! We will be choosing between two great patterns from Waves & Wild - the Wayfinder Trousers & the Waratah Wide Leg Pants Both are comfortable trousers which can be made from lightweight woven fabrics. Wayfinder are relaxed fit with elasticated waist & leg cuffs (although we often make these with a plain hem). Waratah, one of the most recent W&W releases, are a wide leg trouser with pleats in the front & gathered elastic waistband in back. Both have pockets (of course!) & can be made in a variety of fabric. Viscose & rayon blends will make a flowy lightweight pair, whereas using cotton or chambray can make them more structured, but still relaxed. The Wayfinder pattern is available in Baby/Child & Adult Sizes & the Waratah is available in Baby/Child, Teen & Adult Sizes When booking we ask you fill in the details to let us know which pattern you wish to make & your waist & hip measurements (or those of the person you want to sew for). We will then print the pattern & have it ready for you. We will learn how to cut pattern pieces and work through each stage of the pattern, enhancing seams with the overlocker, adding elastic & hemming the trousers.
