Service Description

Young Creatives SEW The SEW programme is focused on use of a sewing machine, learning its various functions and perfecting your sewing skills. Projects range from sewn accessories and bags to larger dressmaking projects. Why Do SEW? SEW is for those that want to create items and clothing from scratch. If you want to learn how to use a pattern, construct using different fabrics & handle a sewing machine then SEW is for you! Autumn/Winter Term For our Nov/Dec term we have split our Junior class into Stage 1 & 2 Stage 1 will cover the very basics of using a sewing machine, focusing on threading and set up, cutting and sewing straight seams. We will work on projects including a tote bag, bookmark, snack bag and end up making some cute Christmas toys! For this term we are asking students to provide some of the materials - it is difficult to meet everyone's tastes & have lots of leftovers so picking your own will ensure less wastage. An equipment list will be sent once you have booked. For help & suggested fabric shops please visit What’s Included All equipment, haberdashery, patterns and some materials (e.g lining fabrics).
