Service Description
There has been a huge influx of modern sewing patterns over the past few years - with small brands creating fun patterns for kids and adults. The majority use jersey fabric which can be daunting to beginner sewers - but this workshop will aim to alleviate those fears! We will be using the Sew Scrappy top from Ellie & Mac - a great pattern to use up jersey remnants or scraps! This pattern gives you lots of opportunities for colour blocking which can help you practice sewing jersey seams! You can select the adult or child version for this workshop. Other options include: - T-Shirt or Sweatshirt version - Short or Long Sleeve - Hood or Round Neck We will cover: - Cutting material - Sewing Seams - Hemming - Adding Cuffs You will get the option to use an overlocker or use stretch stitches on a sewing machine. After booking we will send you information on measurements & advice how much material you will need to bring. You will need to bring: Adult Version -2.5m-4m jersey or sweatshirt fabric (depending on options) - 1/2m tubular ribbing fabric Kids Version -1.5m-2.5m jersey or sweatshirt fabric (depending on options) - 1/2m tubular ribbing fabric We will provide: - A0 print of the pattern* - Equipment inc machines, tools etc - Thread (we have a variety of colours but you may wish to purchase a matching thread for your fabric) *We have permission to use this pattern for teaching. Cancellation Policy
Booking - Payments must be received in full or in part when booking online. Any remaining payment must be paid by bank transfer before the course/workshop start date. Festive Friends Discount - Eligible only on Winter 2023 Festive Workshops - Participants must book together (select 2 participants when booking) Cancellations These must be received at least two weeks before the workshop starts to receive a full refund. Payment cannot be refunded if places are cancelled later that this date. Young Creatives & After School Clubs ​​If you cancel your place 14 days prior to the programme start date (e.g. by the first date of the block) you will receive a full refund. If you cancel your place 7 days prior to the programme start date (e.g. by the first date of the block) you will receive a 60% refund as by this time we are likely to have purchased materials. We will not be able to refund cancellations received later than 7 days prior to the programme start date.
