Service Description
These courses are designed for those who are comfortable knitting scarves or other simple patterns and want to go to the next stage! The new Basics Collection from Tin Can Knits has hat, cardigan, jumper & socks - so a great range of beginner projects. The Simple Sweater & Classic Cardigan patterns are excellent first jumper patterns - they are both knit from the neck down, using a simple raglan, which is increased every few rows. Once the raglan is finished we seperate the sleeves & knit the body. After this we will work the sleeves & button band for the cardigan. Each pattern is available in newborn to large adult sizes - so if you want you can make a tiny size just to get to grips with the pattern or you can jump in and make your own size. All these patterns are made on circular needles which may be a new technique for many - but we will cover this in the first session (the cardigan is not knit in the round but uses circular needles) The patterns are NOT included in the cost of the course - we decided to let students purchase these seperately to keep the course cost low, we have signed up to Ravelery In Store so hopefully you will be able to buy the patterns in the shop What You Need YARN Each pattern can also be made using sock, DK or Aran yarn so you have a huge amount of choice over what to use. Once booked we will send out info on sizing & yarn - we can also recommend brands & sellers NEEDLES For all these patterns we will use circular needles. We highly recommend buying a set of these (even cheap sets) firstly so you have all you need for each project & secondly because every knitter has a slightly different guage so you may need different needles than those in the pattern ACCESSORIES We have a selection of scissors, measuring tapes & stitch makers for use in our shop - but if you want to get your own to use at home we can reccomend them.
Cancellation Policy
Booking - Payments must be received in full or in part when booking online. Any remaining payment must be paid by bank transfer before the course/workshop start date. Festive Friends Discount - Eligible only on Winter 2023 Festive Workshops - Participants must book together (select 2 participants when booking) Cancellations These must be received at least two weeks before the workshop starts to receive a full refund. Payment cannot be refunded if places are cancelled later that this date. Young Creatives & After School Clubs ​​If you cancel your place 14 days prior to the programme start date (e.g. by the first date of the block) you will receive a full refund. If you cancel your place 7 days prior to the programme start date (e.g. by the first date of the block) you will receive a 60% refund as by this time we are likely to have purchased materials. We will not be able to refund cancellations received later than 7 days prior to the programme start date.
