Details

This course is a great starting point for anyone who wants to learn to make their own clothes! Using a collection of modern pdf patterns we will create a capsule collection of clothing using woven and stretch fabrics. This course is geared towards self-taught, home sewers - we will focus on how to use the patterns- adapting for different sizes and personalising. Patterns will include: Stevie Top/Tunic from Tilly & the Buttons Wayfinder Trousers from Waves & Wild Driftwood Doleman Sweater from Waves & Wild The structure of this course is slightly different - we will start with a Fitting session (approx 1hrs) where we will go over measurements & discuss sizing and fabrics. Then the course will start a few weeks later, covering all patterns in six 2hr sessions. We will learn how to cut pattern pieces and work through each stage of the pattern, beginning with woven patterns and then moving on to stretch fabrics - giving sewers an opportunity to use the overlockers. You will need to bring Materials for each pattern (details shared once booked) If you have your own you may wish to bring: Cutting mat Rotary Cutter Pattern weights Included in the cost: All equipment and tools PDF copies of Stevie Top/Tunic & Lindsey Hoodie patterns Elastic & Haberdashery Pattern printing Please note - each pattern designer has different rules for how their patterns can be used for teaching: - Waves & Wild are happy for us to teach using their patterns but we cannot allow students to take home pattern pieces without proof of purchase
