Service Description
Sewing is not just an enjoyable craft skill, it can help us to be more resourceful - encouraging repairing, reusing and upcycling. We will learn how to set up the sewing machines, covering how to wind a bobbin and thread, select and adjust stitches and how to sew straight seams. We will also cover cutting fabric, using pins, rotary cutters, interfacing and pressing fabric. We will create a set of sewing accessories including pattern weights, pin cushion and a square basket to store your sewing supplies. You will need to bring: Pattern Weights: 1 Fat Quarter (Cotton or Canvas fabric) Pin Cushion: Fabric scraps - at least four 3.5” squares (Cotton fabric) Square Basket: 2 Fat Quarters (Cotton fabric) The most cost effective way is to buy a fat quarter pack - these often have 5/6 different fabrics We will provide: Sewing machines and equipment Haberdashery including pin cushion filling, weights and fusible fleece
Cancellation Policy
Booking - Payments must be received in full or in part when booking online. Any remaining payment must be paid by bank transfer before the course/workshop start date. Festive Friends Discount - Eligible only on Winter 2023 Festive Workshops - Participants must book together (select 2 participants when booking) Cancellations These must be received at least two weeks before the workshop starts to receive a full refund. Payment cannot be refunded if places are cancelled later that this date. Young Creatives & After School Clubs If you cancel your place 14 days prior to the programme start date (e.g. by the first date of the block) you will receive a full refund. If you cancel your place 7 days prior to the programme start date (e.g. by the first date of the block) you will receive a 60% refund as by this time we are likely to have purchased materials. We will not be able to refund cancellations received later than 7 days prior to the programme start date.
